In December 2005 a 5 foot diameter tree fell on the trestle at Mossy Hill causing sufficient damage to stop all traffic for several days.

As you can see, this scale 5 foot diameter tree appears to have created havoc with both the timbers of the trestle and the rail itself.

Note the twisting of the near rail just a few scale feet in front of the train.

All Garden Railroaders please note that there are no rail joiners on this trestle. One of the advantages of battery power is that you can leave rail joiners off...

Once the tree was removed the extent of the damage can be seen. The timber structure was broken and the rail was kinked.

As of 3 January 2006 the trestle has been repaired and the rail is in place but still needs to be spiked down.
