NCE Corp, a major US DCC manufacturer, is expanding its product line for large scalers by introducing the wireless "GWire"™ ProCab.

The "GWire"™ ProCab is similar to the AirWire™ wireless cab introduced by CVP Products several years ago. The "GWire"™ ProCab broadcasts wireless DCC signals to a DCC decoder inside the loco. The loco can either use a battery pack or standard DC track power.

The NCE "GWire"™ Wireless ProCab should be available mid to late March 2009. I make no promises. This is what I have been told. I haven't seen one. I haven't used one. So I can give no personal testimonial about it. What I do know is that a little competition may help bring prices down and speed up improvements and innovation.

According to most people NCE had a good reputation. I will be getting one of these throttles as soon as they become available.
